It is a fair question, and we hear it in the driveway all the time. Somebody sees the truck, sees the steam coming off the back of it, and asks the same thing: does that actually do anything, or is it just a rinse?
Here is the honest answer. We have been cleaning garbage cans around Cincinnati since 2018. The three things our customers say over and over
Read through our customer reviews and you will notice nobody is writing poetry about garbage cans. Almost every one of them lands on one of three things.
1. The smell is gone
That is the reason most people call us in the first place. Mike Pierce wrote, “Fantastic job! Our can smells and looks like a brand new can.” Sherry Seta-Tabb keeps us coming back “to keep our cans clean and not stinking up the garage.” Charlie Francus said we “leave the cans with a wonderful lemon fresh scent.”
That lemon is not perfume sprayed over the problem. It is an odor neutralizer, it goes in every can we clean, and we have never charged anybody a dime for it.
2. We show up when we say we will
Robb Kelly wrote, “Communication is always top notch and flexibility to move to a different day is always not a problem.” Amy A. put it plainly: “They come when they say they will and the cans are clean and smell amazing when they are done.”
We come on your garbage day or the day after, once your cans are empty. Not three days later when they are full again. You get a reminder the day before and another the morning of, so it never sneaks up on you.
3. Nobody had to stand in the driveway and supervise
Brian B. wrote, “Even on days when I forget to leave the cans out, they will call so that I can open the garage remotely and close it back up once they are done.” Tara Richmond said it was “very nice not having any nasty can issues and not having to deal with it myself.”
You do not need to be home. That is most of the point.
What is actually happening while you are at work
The reason a cleaning holds up is the water temperature. Our truck washes the inside of your can at over 200 degrees, and the black film on the bottom does not survive that. That film is mold, and mold is a big part of why a closed garage smells like a closed garage.

Where a cleaning will not help you
We would rather say this up front than have you find out. A cleaning will not repair a cracked lid or a broken wheel, and it will not get you a replacement can, because in most of our area that falls on the homeowner. It will not change your pickup day and it will not change your hauler either. What it does is take a can that smells like the inside of a garbage can and hand it back to you smelling like nothing at all.
